Hi, I’m Sarah.

Born and bred in Texas, I currently live in Washington D.C., where I serve as the Magazine Editor for Oceana, the world’s largest conservation organization focused on the oceans. Previously, I edited online publications for Ashoka Changemakers, an organization fostering social entrepreneurship around the world. I arrived to D.C. by way of the Chicago suburbs, where I received my education in journalism and the liberal arts at Wheaton College, and Telangana, India, where I received my education in social justice and village life from community leaders. I’ve seen how stories shift depending on who you ask and where you tell them from. No one is voiceless, but some voices go unheard or silenced.

I focus on stories about solutions—narratives that center the people and communities leading movements for change around the world, from child welfare to the recycling revolution. I also enjoy writing about religion, politics, and culture.
